Ms. Lisa Gibson

High School Social Studies Teacher, Tallwood High School, Virginia Beach

Ms. Gibson currently teaches at Virginia Beach City Public Schools, where she previously served as the secondary social studies instructional specialist. As an instructional specialist, Ms. Gibson mentored and coached new & veteran teachers, created and facilitated annual professional development for 400 middle & high school teachers, and served as a curriculum consultant for three grant-funded seminars. For the last five years, Ms. Gibson has reviewed conference proposals for National Council for the Social Studies and served on the 2015 New Orleans, 2016 Washington, D.C .and 2018 Chicago conference proposal final selection committees. Ms. Gibson will serve as a curriculum consultant for one of the sessions in July.
