Ann Jimerson

Co-chair of DOVE (Desegregation of Virginia Education) and Director of Kids in Birmingham 1963.

As a social and behavior change specialist, Ann spent more than 30 years listening to people’s stories and then unlocking behavior. With DOVE, she applied those skills to co-create a plan for conducting oral histories throughout Virginia to capture the lost history of school desegregation. Child of a civil rights worker, Ann founded Kids in Birmingham 1963 as a platform for people who came of age in Birmingham to preserve and actively share their stories to spark actions for racial justice.
